Fan Language

The rich language of the fan played an important role in human relations, especially when a woman and a man flirting would express their desires through this beautiful complement.

When Spanish ladies in the XIXth and XXth century were invited to a ball, they would be accompanied by their mothers who would head the ladies. In order to communicate freely with their pretender, they invented the fan language.

Let's have a look at this fan language:

Place the fan on your heart:                                                                                                                          "You earned my love"

                 Fan yourself slowly on your breast:      "I am single"

Open and close the fan on your cheak:                                    "I like you"

                Place the fan on your breast and look up:      "I think of you days and night"

Closing the fan touching your right eye:                            "When can I see you?"

          The number of rib show the answer to the question: "At what time?"

Hide your eyes behind your open eyes:                                            "I love you"
